vanitas /'vanə, täs/ n. 1 A still-life painting of a 17th-century Dutch genre containing symbols of death or change as a reminder of their inevitability. [Latin, literally "vanity."]

This is a community made to celebrate Vanitas no Carte AKA Les Mémoires de Vanitas AKA The Case Study of Vanitas by Mochizuki Jun. VNC began December 22, 2015 in Gangan Joker and is currently an ongoing series.

All submissions are welcome whether they're fan fiction, AMVs, original music, meta, or even just some good old-fashioned rambling about the series. Feel free to post here or post a link to where the content is at. Go for it!

There are some basic rules for the community, but nothing unusual. I don't expect we'll have any problems. Here they are:

• No hate speech or discrimination.



• This community allows explicit material but it must be tagged appropriately and placed under a cut if it's posted here directly. Other warnings should be put at the top of the post.



• No ship wars. All ships are allowed here. You can certainly discuss the merits of a given ship or compile evidence for a ship or what have you, but no shaming someone else's post.



• Having said that, if it's likely your post will squick someone out (particularly if it's explicit) put it under a cut with the usual warnings, AO3 style.



• This blog isn't spoiler free, but please tag your post if it contains significant spoilers and place major ones under a cut. This blog considers the current month's chapter as "spoilers." I'll go through periodically to remove the "spoiler" tag when it no longer qualifies.



• Please only post your own original material. In other words, share art you've created, writing you've created, etc., but don't steal other people's material. Mochizuki's art may also be shared unless she has said otherwise. Notably, she's requested her art on Twitter stay on Twitter.



• Related to this, it is okay to post recommendations (recs). Feel free to explain what it is, why you like it, and provide a link to where the goods are at!
