So, I love Vanitas no Carte and I figure VaNoé has some chance of existing in the series, so why not take a look at it?

As a quick side note, this isn’t meant to dismiss other ships, I like a few others myself, but I think that as far as what has the most textual evidence VaNoé is ahead. I figure it can’t hurt to analyze that, so here we go!

Let’s start with the first volume. Even the first chapter alone makes it apparent this story is centered on Vanitas and Noé. Noé himself tells us, “This is the tale of how I met Vanitas and how we walked together, of all we gained and lost, and of how, at the end of that journey, I would kill him with my own two hands.”

The entire story is framed around the two of them. It’s not what Noé gained and lost but what they both gained and lost together during their travels.

The first chapter also establishes that, despite what the majority of vampires think, Noé finds the blue moon beautiful. This is noteworthy because it’s juxtaposed with him meeting Vanitas who is associated with the blue moon itself. Even Noé’s regular eye color, purple, is a blend of red and blue.
